The Enemy Inside

One Step at a Time

We all know that exercise has numerous health benefits, but did you know it can also be a fundamental part of your mental wellbeing?

Having a strong and healthy body plays an imperative part to having a strong and healthy mind.

Once we start exercising, whether it be weight training, cardio or even just walking, amazing things can start to happen.

The Effects of a Healthy Body

impact

When we exercise, we release a number of hormones that have a positive impact. These hormones are Endorphins (the Analgesic Hormone) which help to reduce the effects of pain, Serotonin (the Happy Hormone) which regulates your mood and can prevent depression, and Dopamine (the pleasure hormone) which motivates you to work (or train) harder.

We highly recommend that you have a balance of Anaerobic (resistance/weight training) complimented with some aerobic (cardio/HIIT) training to get the best results.

Nutrition

Reinforcing your Commitment

Once we embark on a training program along with a diet rich in whole foods, fruits and vegetables, you will start seeing changes in your body composition. Your self-esteem will  improve and in turn improving your mood and your mindset. It can give you a sense of purpose as well as getting you into a healthy routine. Set goals for yourself, whether it be losing 5kg or entering an obstacle race or even setting yourself some strength goals. e.g. improving your deadlift or bench press.

Sleep

important

Sleep and lack of it can play an incredibly important role in your state of mind. Once you are in a routine with your training, your sleep quality and patterns can improve and in turn you will see a definite improvement in your emotional wellbeing.
Energy levels will also rise as well as your mental alertness, so you can become more productive at work and at home with your family. It can also help to improve your libido, reduce anxiety and induce a sharper memory. Who doesn’t want that??

Once you start to see changes not only in your physical appearance but also in your mind, you will also start to inspire others, whether it be family, co-workers or friends.

So all in all, adding exercise into your daily routine can only have a positive impact on your everyday life.

Here is a recap of the positive repercussions of exercise:
